I can finally announce that my first full-length, first-authored paper, “Embodied Care and Consent in Mediated Social Touch Interactions: A Study of the Interactive Artwork The Alien Between Us,” has been published in the journal IEEE Transactions on Haptics as part of the special edition on Art in Haptics. I am really happy to have this out there, as I have been working on it for the last year. This paper explains the technical and conceptual grounding of my work, provides a clear analysis of audience reactions to the piece, and lays out plans for the next steps.
