Some impressions from the event I organised on the 15th of June at Sexyland World: MyFACE installation with 31 face masks mounted on the wall. The face masks are moulded after my face and come in different sizes, from S to XL; are the same on the outside but each mask is unique on the inside. When a mask is in use, the plaster support shows the inside of the mask exposing a deformed abstract face!
.
The performance by volunteers wearing the faces in public space as a protest against facial recognition technology and collecting signatures for #reclaimyourface campaign, a lecture by me and discussion, poetry reading by Bren Booth-Jones who recited a fragment of our collaborative project on glitches + same face after-party with DJs Brothers Boogaloo and members of the audience wearing my faces! What a night! And I also turned 31 years old!
